The HIV Clinical Education Initiative (CEI) is an educational network for excellence in HIV care. Our mission is to respond to the clinical education needs of community providers. CEI ensures that patients with HIV Disease have access to quality HIV clinical services across the continuum of health care in their communities through continuous education of health care professionals. CEI educational services are an important part of the comprehensive HIV/AIDS patient care services offered through the IMMUNODEFICIENCY SERVICES department of ECMC in Buffalo, New York. Serving 8 Western New York Counties, the Clinical Education Initiative (CEI), sponsored by the State of New York Department of Health, is pleased to offer a clinical education line, CEI-LINE, for primary care practitioners providing care to people with HIV in New York State. CEI-LINE is a 24 hour phone support service for clinicians. The phone number is: 716-898-4119. After hours the calls are directed to the physician on call. Help is always readily available.
Mini Residency Clinical Training Program
Introductory & Advanced Clinical Training Programs for Community & Correctional Health Care Providers
CEI also offers a custom tailored Mini Residency Clinical Training Program for clinicians. This Mini Residency, located on the ECMC campus, provides clinicians with hands-on experience in the care, evaluation, and monitoring of asymptomatic and symptomatic HIV positive patients. The program will include didactic lectures, clinical modules, and case conferencing.
